GTA 5 Stock Market Guide
GTA 5 gives you a fantastic way to make a ton of cash for free really easily, and virtually risk free. Basicially it is using the Assassination Missions in conjunction with investing on the in-game stockmarket. Let’s go into a little more details… During the game you get Hotel Assassination mission, you’ll need to complete this before you can progress further in the game. Once it is done you will then get more assassination missions, but don’t do them until you have completed the whole game… Why? Because when you take on the assassination you should be investing in the rival company of the CEO you have been tasked to kill – you’ll literally make a killing twice, once with the assassination and the second time on the stockmarket – This is why you should take on these assassination missions when you have completed the whole game and you already have a decent sun of cash to invest with.
Assassination Missions and the Stock Market
As explained in the introduction above once you have completed the game you should complete the remaining Assassination Missions from Lester. The idea is that you will have more money to invest in these sure-fire winners if you wait longer to play these missions. Here are details of each of the individual assassination missions, what exactly you should be investing in and what your expected rate of return will probably be.
This is the first assassination mission, and you need to complete it before you can progress with the story of the game.
Before you complete the assassination, invest all of your cash with all three characters, in Betta Pharmaceuticals (BET) on the BAWSAQ. Once the mission has completed you should start to see a rise in the stock move up, it may take a few days of in-game time for the rise to complete, then sell before they drop back again. The amount of increase you can expect to get does vary according to the system you are using, and you can expect the following return rates: 20% (XB1/PS4) 80% (PS3/X360).
At the same time as the stock of Betta Pharmaceuticals is rising the stock of Bilkington (BIL) should be falling, so around the time that you sell the Betta Pharmaceuticals stock should be around about the best time to purchase the Bilkington (BIL), but check on the markets first to be sure. You should then see a good return of about 70% on the Bilkington purchase as it rises back up again over the next few days.
So you are not just left staring at the screen and waiting for the stock prices to move you should go back to your Safe House and advance time by 8 hours by sleeping, then check the share prices, then do it again if you still think you can make more money, until you think you’ve reached the best amount of profit that you can get, then make your sale and purchase transactions.
Complete the Game
You will receive more assassination missions from Lester, but don’t do these until you have completed the game, that way you will have a lot more cash to invest in these sure-fire stock market winners.
Multi Target Assassination
This mission should not be done before you have completed the game, so you have more money to invest with. This mission in particular has a potential for massive returns, so the longer you can wait to do it, the better.
Before you start this mission you should invest in Debonaire Cigarettes (DEB) you can expect to make around 90% so once the stock has reached around an 80% rise, consider selling your stock. Rememeber to take naps to push time forward 8 hours at a time. Onc eyou have sold the DEB stock, you should then invest in Redwood Cigarettes (RWC) which should have fallen significantly in the days following you completing the Multi Target Assassination. Once you think it has completed it’s fall, invest with everything you have and you can expect a return upwards of 250%-400% depending on how well you time your investment entry point. Don’t forget to sell the stock when you feel your profit has been maximised.
The Vice Assassination
Before you complete the Vice Assassination, invest in Fruit (FRT), the rise isn’t as much as the previous mission, but it’s still virtually guaranteed. You can expect to rise between 25 and 50% again it depends a lot on how well you time your entry point, take naps to progress time more rapidly and cash out when you hit your target stock price. After the assassination, you will notice that the stock price of Facade (FAC) decreases, after a few days of game time it should reach it’s bottom, at that point, make your investment in this company, for an approximate 30% return.
The Bus Assassination
There is no stock to invest in before you complete this mission, but after you have completed it you should watch the stock of Vapid (VAP) decrease pretty rapidly, then invest in it when you think it is near the bottom. You’ll then need to advance time by taking naps for a few days of game time to realise about a 100% return, at which point you should sell the stock.
The Construction Assassination
With this mission there is only one stock to invest in, Gold Coast Stocks (GDC) , you can expect roughly a 75% increase in the stock price. The idea with this one is that you invest before you start the mission, wait for the 75% increase over the next few days, then sell out.
After completing the game and all of these Assassination Missions you should probably be incredibly rich in the game, but if you still want more money you can continue to play the Stock Market in GTA 5 and here are a few tips on how to do just that.
GTA 5 Stock Market Tips
Apart from the Stock Market tips from the above assassination missions, making money from the Stock Market in GTA 5 is a little more complicated as there is a lot more risk. It’s just a matter of taking a look at how the stocks seem to be performing and when they seem cheap, buy them. Don’t get too greedy and you should be prepared to accept a smaller profit than the assassination missions. Also, don’t invest oo much as there is a chance that things could not go in your favor and the stock prices of your investments drop. At that point you have three choices: Buy some more to reduce the average price of your investment; Continue to hold and hope that the tock price rises again; Cut your losses and sell!
It’s hard to know exactly what to do and there are a lot of variables in play, but remember don’t be greedy with the Stock Market in GTA 5 and expect to make some losses as well as wins!
From time to time you may get some tips on the radio.
Tinkle Stock Tip
Another sure fire Stock Market winner is an investment in Tinkle (TNK), but it has to be done after you receive the tip from Timm the Stockbroker… How do you get that tip, well read on for full details….
First of all make an investment in Tinkle (TNK) with all three of the game characters, then start the random event Hitch a Lift 1, you then need to activate this random event with Trevor. The event is located near the beachside area of Banham Canyon. At the side of a road you should see a suited man whose car has broken down, you have to take this stockbroker to LS Airport within 130 seconds. If you are quick enough, he’ll give you the stock tip to invest in Tinkle, at which point you should see the stock of this company start to rise, you can ecpect to see roughly a 30% increase in teh stock price over 12 hours of game time, at which point you should take your profits.
If you fail the mission and are invested in tinkle, then don’t forget to remove your money.
A stockbroker’s car has broke down and he needs a ride to LS Airport.
Rival Company Investing
Another way to make money on the GTA 5 Stockmarket is to know all of the pairs of rival company’s then do your best to destroy one while investing in the other. For example you could invest in Fly US while you head over to the airport and destroy all of the planes owned by AirEmu!
Here is a list of competing companies for you to try this technique:
